Overview
Offshore Solutions Group (OSG) is proposing a seasonal wet storage facility for floating offshore wind foundations within the inner Moray Firth. The proposal involves the seasonal storage of up to 30 floating offshore wind foundations within an approximately 18 km² site extending along the Moray coastline from the Culbin area past Findhorn and Roseisle towards Burghead. According to information submitted by OSG to Scottish Ministers in its screening request dated 7th March 2026, foundation units would be towed into the Moray Firth for seasonal storage before onward installation at offshore wind sites.
On 7th April 2026, Scottish Ministers concluded that the proposal requires a full Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), citing the scale of the development, the sensitivity of the location, and the potential for significant environmental effects.
