SAY NO TO THE FLOW
Protect the Moray Firth from the FLOW-Park proposal.
The Moray Firth is one of Scotland’s most beautiful and wildlife rich coastlines. It is currently at risk of being turned in to a huge industrial “wet storage park” for floating wind turbine bases - right off the coast of Culbin, Findhorn, Roseisle, Burghead and possibly Nairn in the future.
The project is being sold, by a company named OSG (Offshore Solutions Group) as part of Scotland’s clean energy future, but it’s the first of its kind. This means the economic value can not be properly quantified, the risks are unknown, and any negative outcomes will impact on the local population, businesses, tourism, marine life, the environment and the fishing industry, and not the developers.
There could be up to 30 of these colossal structures which are likely to be 130 metres wide by 45 metres high, with 30 metres visible above the water and with the nearest unit as close as 1.39 Km from the closest point to land, and stretching for 9km between Culbin, Findhorn and Roseisle to Burghead.
We all support Scotland’s goal of net zero and a just transition, but this is neither just nor fair.
